frequently asked questions
Do you have questions regarding our wines or vineyard? We’re sure to have the answer for you. Here are some of the most frequent queries we receive.
Visiting the vineyard
We welcome groups of 10 or more, by prior arrangement, depending on the winemakers’ availability and the stage of winemaking at the time.
This unique opportunity is reserved to our Wine Club members but harvest time is a great time to drop in for a tasting (during our opening hours)! To discover all the benefits of being a Wine Club member, click here.
Unfortunately, our vineyard is not currently set up to welcome groups larger than 15 people – it’s definitely in our future plans to have an allocated space for bigger events! However, we can certainly arrange a tasting experience or private workshop for groups of up to 15 people.
Absolutely! However please make sure to do so during our opening hours or by prior arrangement. We would love you to discover our vineyard’s biodiversity and admire the changing vines through the seasons.
They certainly are! Your furry companions are sure to appreciate the exercise and the aromas. However, please leave them to enjoy the outdoors while you enjoy an indoor tasting.
Yes. We do not subject our wines to filtering or fining, except those sold at the SAQ. For Le Blanc and Le Rosé we use a yeast husk fining process to guaranty a flawless clarity without deposits or cloudiness.
We do all in our power to achieve as natural a vinification as possible by avoiding unnecessary additives and only interfering with the process when it is unavoidable. A small quantity of sulphites are introduced at the beginning of the winemaking process, during the pressing of the grapes. If we need to alter a wine, we do so by using the natural means and materials at our disposal, making sure to retain the authentic character of the wine. First and foremost, the wine must be of the highest quality, however keeping it as natural as possible is always at the forefront of our decision making.
Our vineyard and the wines we produce have had the Ecocert organice seal of approval since our inception. We are also a Demeter recognized biodynamic vineyard since 2010.
Purchasing our wines
A few of our wines have a limited number of bottles available so those are only sold at the vineyard (or through our online boutique). However, most of our wines are available to purchase at fine food stores and can be found on some of the best wine lists of restaurants in the province of Québec. The SAQ also sells some of our festive range blends.
With pleasure – just make sure to drop by during our opening hours or at a time agreed with us (with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice). Not only will you avoid delivery fees but it will also give you an opportunity to take a peek at our vines!
Yes, just like at the SAQ, the online boutique prices include tax.
To make sure our wines are accessible to all throughout the province of Québec, you can find two Bergeville wines on the SAQ’s shelves: Le Blanc et Le Rosé.
The best way to keep up-to-date with all announcements and new releases is to subscribe to our newsletter. Then, make sure not to miss out by purchasing newly released wines directly from our online store. You can also keep an eye on our stockists’ social media pages to see when our new wines reach their shelves.
It’s a chance for a limited number of members to have priority (and sometimes exclusive) access to vintages created by Domaine Bergeville. The Wine Club members are also invited to private events and enjoy various other benefits.
