plus petit que 2024

Legend has it that this wine was originally intended to be added in small amounts to future vintages to enhance their complexity. The tasting of this little magical juice was so highly praised that we couldn’t resist bottling it to reveal this well-kept secret. We are now on the 6th edition of Plus Petit Que. Dry, lively, and thirst-quenching!

In the glass, the pale straw color is slightly cloudy. The nose is very expressive, dominated by indulgent notes of tropical fruits, popcorn, and yeast. The acidity and bitterness on the palate help balance these aromas. The finish is marked by a delicate, sparkling effervescence and a creamy texture, thanks to the lees present in the wine.

Tasting & pairings

Its remarkable thirst-quenching characteristics make the Plus Petit Que the ideal aperitif candidate and a flawless companion to calamari fritti (served with a herb and lemon dressing) or to a pear-inspired sweet course. When the sun reigns, le Plus Petit Que can elevate any garden salad. Due to its contact with lees, aromas and finish are akin to bâtonnage.

Do remember to carefully tip the bottle upside down to suspend the lees before serving. This wine is meant to be enjoyed young, in its prime, to best delight.

Drinking temperature: 12 °C

Can be stored and kept: up to 2 years

Notes from the winemaker

The 2024 vintage was marked by a particularly warm and sunny season, offering us an abundance of exceptional red grapes. This red year, as we like to call it, allowed us to unleash our creativity in developing new products we’ve long dreamed of.

It’s a year that was, above all, filled with a lot of love. Love that we want more than ever to share with you, one bottle (or can) at a time:

Hand-harvested 72 tons of grapes • 108 hours of juice extraction • 40 days protecting the grapes from their natural predators • 8 days spreading and smelling the manure • 85 tank transfers • 600 hours of manual weeding with a pickaxe • 10 exceptional humans pampering the vines 7 days a week from April to November!

Grapes are pressed directly as soon as they are picked, and then go through a low temperautre fermentation to preserve a maximum of fruit and crispness.

Following a short maceration and a first alcoholic fermentation, the base wine is mixed with a starter made of base wine and organic beet sugar, and bottled on the same day. The bubbles are formed during the second fermentation in the bottle. More fizzy than sparkling, it contains twice as less pressure than our traditional methods. The wine is neither fined nor filtered.

In the glass, the pale yellow color has golden highlights. The nose infuses notes of honeydew melon, brioche and toasted hazelnuts. On the palate, the bubbles are ample and silky. They fade away gently, giving way to a long, airy, mineral finish.
